Makes sense…
As I was watching Tuesday night’sWashington Nationals-Philadelphia Phillies’ game, I was very surprised to see a camera shot of Hunter Pencedrinking what appeared to be coffee in the dugout.Although I can’t be positive it was coffee, whatever the drink was had steam coming out of it. So if not coffee, my guess would be hot chocolate. But either way, what baseball player drinks coffee or any hot substance in the dugout during a game, especially when the temperature is in the 70s or 80s? Even during games in chilly April or October, I can’t recall a player sipping on coffee. But with Pence, maybe it makes sense. The Phillies right fielder is one interesting guy, from his odd practice swings to his constant movement on and off the field. Pence’s hyper ways even sometimes get him in trouble in the outfield, as he gets ahead of himself when trying to field balls, causing problems. But there are also positives with his hyper actions, as you will never see Pence not running through first base.So has the reason for Pence’s hyper ways been revealed? Is it because he drinks coffee in the dugout as the rest of the Phillies stick to water or Gatorade?Next time you tune into a Phillies’ game, check the dugout, Pence might be holding a Starbucks cup.
